Deparei-me com este artigo no jornal the Guardian, que retrata a história de oito fotógrafos em situações complicadas e/ou violentas, em que escolheram fotografar em vez de ajudar, aqui segue o link: https://www.theguardian.com/media/2012/jul/28/gutted-photographers-who-didnt-help, «A tone point, i was photographing a woman carrying her son into a feending centre. He was extremely malnourished, and i was photographing her as she walked along. All of a sudden, these Sudanese people started directing her for the photos. They had her sit down and were indicating how she should hold her child. I ran to get a translator, and said, «Tell her to take her child to the feeding centre. She should not be stopping because i’m taking a photograph.» O dilema não é novo, e é tudo menos fácil, especialmente para a consciência do fotógrafo envolvido, que pode ter que carregar toda a vida com esse peso. Porém, é preciso ter em conta que muitas vezes a melhor maneira de ajudar a vítima, ou mais provavelmente futuras vítimas, é mesmo fazendo a foto. E estes sudaneses parecem ter consciência disso.
